House panel to work closely with gov’t to diversify PHL trade – BusinessWorld Online
A HOUSE of Representatives global trade panel will closely collaborate with the government to help push for measures that could expand export destinations and boost the access of migrant workers in overseas labor markets, its chairperson said on Thursday.
The House globalization and World Trade Organization committee would work with the Trade and Foreign Affairs departments to help in crafting policies that could diversify Philippine trade, Bohol Rep. Kristine Alexie B. Tutor said in a statement.
“Given rising trade tariffs, diversifying global trade and expanding global market for services, we will do our part,” she said.
“Through the committee, the House will have its say on shaping policies and mechanisms relevant to the international recognition of Filipino migrant workers’ qualifications, credentials and degrees,” she added. — Kenneth Christiane L. Basilio
